In addition to the moosefish.com website you know and love we also offer the news and adventures channels as syndicated feeds. (Specifically, they are RSS 2.0 feeds.) This means you can subscribe to these channels and you'll automatically receive updates.
To get started you need two things:
- a program to handle your subscription and
- the URL to subscribe to
If you're running MacOS X (and who isn't?) you want NetNewsWire Lite or SlashDock. If you're running Windows (boo! hiss!) you should use... um... whatever. A list of recommended clients (courtesy of Version Tracker) is below.
Now that you have a client you need to choose the channel that you want to read.
http://www.moosefish.com/cgi-bin/section_display.pl?sectionID=14
is the main news channel. Whenever we post a new story to the news page it'll also be added to this channel.
http://www.moosefish.com/cgi-bin/section_display.pl?sectionID=15
is the adventure channel. This will be just hikes and trips and the like.
To get started you'll need to do these things:
- Download one of the clients listed below.
- Install it. (This could be as simple as dragging it into your Applications folder (MacOS X) or running an installer (Windows).)
- Copy the URL you want to subscribe to.
- Using the client, enter the URL and wait for the next update.
Have fun.
