Another day in Fiji, another adventure! This time we opted to go snorkeling on the Rainbow Reef. Yeah! The soft coral capital of the world! Or something. I dunno. I just wanted to see some colorful fish.
And we did. So many fish. So much coral. Soft and otherwise. Back in the day, my father had saltwater tanks and I recognized many of the same species. Except here they were wild and dangerous. They might just swim right up to me and take a bite. It's Fiji! You never know what will happen.
Regardless of whether we were actually in mortal peril or not, it was amazing. I can't imagine what it would be like if the sun had been shining at 100% strength or the wind hadn't been blowing. As it was, just awesome.
We swam two sites on the Rainbow Reef: The Cabbage Patch and the Fish Factory. (No. I did not make up those names.) A few days later we swam the house reef just a very short walk from our villa. All of it was spectacular.
The pictures on this post are all screen captures from the video. As I'm sure you know by now, I'm no videographer and definitely not when I'm underwater. So view these videos at your own risk. If you see something really great in them, let me know!
