Spring in the PNW? Hope you like shrooms

Mushroom hunter extraordinaire

In case you missed it, the PNW is wet. That means we don't have snow all season long (at least not in the lowlands). But all that moisture means we have epic fungi. The trick is to know where to find them.

So Clara and I wandered up a not-a-trail (no, not that not-a-trail) with our eyes cast down. We saw all the shrooms. There was the orange one with the flat top and one that looked like worms growing out of the ground. There were the ones that looked like little sarlaccs and the perfect cap hiding under the log.

Neither Tinkham nor either of us tried to eat any of the weird growths so I think we did pretty well. Our standards are pretty low in the wet winter.

📍On the lands of the Snoqualmie people.
