Mistake #1: Mrs. Moosefish gifted me and the boy nice light sabers for Christmas.
Mistake #1a: Mrs. Moosefish didn't gift light sabers to the girls. (This was quickly remedied thanks to Amazon Prime.)
Mistake #2: The boy agreed to climb a local mountain, in the rain, in the dark, with our lightsabers to celebrate May the Fourth.
Mistake #3: I decided we should glissade down the hill in the aforementioned rain and dark.
Mistake #4: I didn't video enough of the hilarity that ensued.
So yeah, we flew down the hill. Obstacles appeared in our headlamps quickly and we blew by them just as quickly. Our light sabers added spice to what would have otherwise been just another bad idea.
And if someone suggests Tae Kwon Do doesn't translate to the real world, they haven't seen the boy whirling a pair of light sabers. It's both mesmerizing and terrifying. Heaven help us if he turns to the dark side.
