By this time in our road trip, I'd pretty much forgotten what state we were in. All I knew is where we were going next. And this time it was the highest point in South Carolina called Sassafras Mountain. At only 3,566 feet, it's not a hard peak to bag. The "hike" to the summit gained only 37 feet from the trail head and was less than half a mile long.
However, we were greeted at the top by a gorgeous, four month old black lab named, Rambo, and blue skies. So it was a win!
As you can guess, we didn't dawdle. We got our pic and headed off to our next destination.
