(This is part of the TENNESSEE! Tour. When I finally get a little caught up on posts, you can read about how we got into the south at http://bit.ly/MoosefishDoesTennessee. (Clicking that before it's posted will get you an error.))
Second stop: Cumberland Gap National Historical Park. It was a bit of a drive from Mammoth Caves, but we made generally good time. Right up until we let Google convince us to turn down a country road.
To be fair, Google got us to a trailhead in the Park, just not the one we thought we'd arrive at. And since cell service was spotty at best we couldn't really double check Google's directions. Eventually, we did get to where we were kind of trying to go and stepped out for a short walk around Pinnacle Peak.
Big views. Our first straddling of a state line. Poison Ivy. It was lovely, but it was also required to be a short visit. We still had a couple of hours to go for our last stop of the day so we hopped back on the road and headed northeast toward... Where do you think we're going next?
