Tired of the snow?

Winter's hard. Between snow and wind and storms there's plenty of damage in the mountains. And for the most part, there's nobody out there cleaning up after Mother Nature. As a result, the first intrepid souls to venture down the trail are often confronted by tangled piles of trees, random patches of snow, and mud. So much mud.
So it was for an "easy" hike with the dogs to an abandoned lookout site. Fighting through the blowdowns was hardest for humans, but even the dogs had some challenge. And the views from the lookout? Might have been ok when it was built in the 1930s. Not so great almost 100 years later when all the trees had grown tall.
Still a good time. As almost all hikes are.
